VIDEO OF THE WEEK

"James Varrick Armaah on EC12One TV"
–

Well, this week's video does not have any "composed by..." tag attached to it. Similar to the Up-close with composer of "oye" song by TV3 Ghana as featured in my blog post, How "Oye" Became a Popular Song in Ghana, EC12One TV interviews James Varrick Armaah, the composer of the sensational "Oye" song, also known as "Asɛm papa bia ma te," the song that has now become more popular than most of the popular music in Ghana, uncharacteristic of songs that are from the choral music setting:

James speaks of his beginnings and how "music took over," finally landing him in his present career. He believes that "God has used me to give to the world," and we share in his belief. We hope to realize more of his songs break bounds from the confines of the choral music circles, and may God continue to use him as much as He is using his other counterparts in the choral evangelistic ministry and even better.
